About
The VA has contracted with private companies to complete Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams so that the VA may focus their internal resources on treatment.
A C&P exam is a one time appointment to gather information for the VA, to be used when processing a disability claim.
C&P exams do not involve treatment or therapy and there is no cost to the veteran.
Detailed information about the VA disability process is available directly from the VA: https://www.va.gov/disability/
Appointment details
A C&P exam is targeted to focus on the specific information the VA needs to process a claim. This is different from treatment-oriented assessments.
A mental health C&P exam is based around an interview with the examiner that can take up to an hour.
The examiner will also spend additional time outside of the appointment reviewing records and finalizing forms for the VA.
Scheduling
Aerial View Psychology can not schedule or reschedule VA disability exams. This includes switching between in-person and tele-health option.
